The Bulldogs’ No. 3 and No. 4 hitters, Keegan McGovern and Michael Curry, belted four home runs and drove in eight runs as the hosts advanced to Monday’s regional title game against the winner of the Duke-Troy contest to be played at 5 p.m. Central on Sunday. With the homers, McGovern upped his season total to 18, while Curry increased his to 12.
“We didn’t play our best game,” said Trojans head coach Mark Smartt. “We didn’t field well enough. We didn’t pitch well enough after the sixth inning. When you’re in this game playing the host team in the (winner’s bracket), you have to play your best.
