Former Providence Christian and current Troy Trojan golfer Calum Masters will compete in the prestigious U.S. Amateur next week in Michigan.
Now he has parlayed that momentum into a berth at the U.S. Amateur, arguably the most prestigious golf tournament for those who have not turned professional. The U.S. Amateur begins Monday at Oakland Hills Country Club in Bloomfield Hills, Mich.
Masters admitted the strong conclusion to his freshman year gave him the confidence to reach a playoff in an U.S. Amateur qualifier in late July and eventually earn one of more than 300 spots in next week’s tournament.
