Former Northview and Troy University standout Clint Robinson was placed on waivers by the Washington Nationals Tuesday afternoon.
Robinson, a left-handed hitting first baseman who has played the last two years with the Nationals, has 72 hours to see if he is claimed by another team. If not, he could accept an assignment with the Nationals’ Triple-A team in Syracuse.
“It’s tough because when you are with a team a couple years and this being my first extended time in the big leagues, the friendships I’ve made and the good teammates I’ve had, saying bye to them is pretty tough,” Robinson said in a Washington Times website story.
