Day, who earlier this year became the Trojans’ first-ever selection in the National Pro Fastpitch league draft, was named to the first team. Benton, a Northview High graduate, garnered a spot on the second team.
The senior Day is second on the Trojans in batting average at .337 and ranks tied for 20th nationally with 16 homers on the season. Day’s 64 RBIs are tied for sixth in the NCAA.
Benton, also a senior, has a .417 batting average and has scored 52 runs as primarily the Trojans’ leadoff hitter. She also has 40 steals in 43 attempts and ranks 12th in steals per game at 0.
