Former Auburn offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey is Troy University’s next head football coach, the university confirmed via Twitter Thursday afternoon.
His official introduction is scheduled Friday at 11 a.m. in the Stadium Club of Veterans Memorial Stadium. The public is invited to attend.
Lindsey, 44, resigned at Auburn in early December for the offensive coordinator’s job on Les Miles’ staff at Kansas.
He replaces Neal Brown, who left Troy last week after four seasons to be the head coach at West Virginia. The Trojans’ new coach will also have to hire a defensive coordinator. At Brown’s introductory press conference on Thursday at West Virginia, he announced Vic Koenning would be joining him in Morgantown.
