TROY, Alabama – Rising Troy senior Fátima Fernández Cano followed her impressive collegiate season with a fourth-place finish at the Campeonato de España Amateur, which is Spain's equivalent of the U.S. Amateur Championship.
Cano, who was named the Sun Belt Conference Women's Golfer of the Year, finished the 72-hole event with a 5-over par 289. She was only five shots behind the winner and just one shot back of a pair tied for second place. Cano was a tournament best even par over the final three rounds of the event following a round of 5-over in the first round.
