Early Miscues Cost Troy in Loss

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama – Samford scored two first half goals and held Troy to just one shot on goal as the Bulldogs pulled out a 2-0 win on a rain soaked field at the Samford Soccer Complex on Sunday.

The Bulldogs (1-0-1) landed it first goal in the 11th minute when Malcanisha Kelley eluded a pair of Troy defenders and fired a shot from 10 yards out that skipped past Mikki Lewis. Troy (1-1-0) surrendered a second goal in the 39th minute after a pass along the backline was intercepted by Olivia Cole and pass ahead to Jermaine Seoposenwe.
