In a game with a reputation for offense, Troy beat Ohio 28-23 in the Dollar General Bowl on the strength of its defense on Dec. 23, 2016. The Trojans intercepted four passes, recovered a fumble and held the Bobcats to one field goal on drives that reached the Troy 11 and 29 in the fourth quarter.
The Trojans turned three of the interceptions into touchdowns, with the Troy offense needing to move only 18 and 4 yards to reach the end zone after two of those turnovers.
