Denver Broncos outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware is one of the eight finalists for the NFL's 2016 Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award.
Each NFL team nominated a player for the award, which is presented annually to the player "who best demonstrates the qualities of on-field sportsmanship, including fair play, respect for the game and opponents, and integrity in competition."
Among the team nominees who were not selected as finalists was San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers, who played at Athens High School.
Ware played at Auburn High School and Troy before joining the NFL as a first-round draft choice in 2005.
