Defensive line makes strides in first Troy scrimmage

The defensive line slowed down the Trojans’ run, generated a few sacks, forced a safety and even recovered a fumble during the approximately 60-play event.

“They’re big and fast. They work on their craft each and every day, and their just getting better,” senior linebacker William Lloyd said. “(They’re) a lot faster, more improved from the first day of practice, and it’s a great thing to watch those guys.”

The performance, which included limiting the offense’s ability to run inside on most plays, may answer some key questions concerning depth. The Trojans lost starting seniors Tyler Roberts (defensive end) and Lonnie Gosha (defensive tackle) from last year’s team.
