Roberts earned first-team A ll-Sun Belt Conference honors, the league announced Wednesday afternoon. Troy senior Teddy Ruben made the second team as a wide receiver, kick returner and all-purpose athlete, while senior offensive lineman Dalton Bennett and senior safety Montres Kitchens also made the second team.
Troy had several honorable mentions to the list: senior running back Brandon Burks of Daleville, sophomore quarterback Brandon Silvers, junior defensive end Rashad Dillard and junior offensive lineman Antonio Garcia. Junior linebacker William Lloyd earned a spot on the Sun Belt’s Newcomer team.
After making the second team in 2013 and earning honorable mention in 2014, Roberts tallied 61 tackles – including a whopping 17 for loss – to go along with seven sacks in 11 games to earn the first team honors .
