The Trojans forced 23 turnovers and outrebounded the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks 45-36 en route to a 74-64 victory at Trojan Arena.
The Trojans won despite the Warhawks hitting 48.1 percent of their shots. ULM took only 54 shots compared to Troy’s 72, though, as the Warhawks struggled with Troy’s press.
“After we went on the streak where we lost a few games in conference, we decided to get back and protect the paint. We were giving up so many points in the paint,” Trojans head coach Chanda Rigby said. “This week, we said, ‘Now we understand we got to protect the paint … but we’ve got to get back to Trojan basketball and start pressing again.
