TROY, Ala. – Jabir Daughtry-Frye and BJ Smith combined for 243 rushing yards and the Troy defense recorded nine sacks in Troy's 45-21 rout of Coastal Carolina in Sun Belt Conference play at The Vet Saturday afternoon.
Daughtry-Frye carried the ball five times for 140 yards with one score and Smith toted the rock for 103 yards on 10 carries with a pair of scores to lead a Troy (4-1, 2-0) rushing attack that compiled 282 yards and set a school record with an average of 9.1 yards per rush.
The Trojan defense set a school FBS record of their own with the nine sacks led by two apiece from Jarvis Hayes and Carlton Martial.
