DeMarcus Ware used up his prime years in Dallas, but is being rewarded for all that hard work with an opportunity to win a Super Bowl.
In nine seasons with the Cowboys, Ware put up monster numbers – 574 tackles, 117 sacks and 32 forced fumbles – but played in only four playoff games, won only one and never even reached the NFC Championship game.
Dallas released its all-time sack leader who made the Pro Bowl seven times after the 2013 season as if he was damaged goods. The Cowboys created $7 million in salary cap space by waiving him, but Ware had a career-low six sacks in his final season there as he missed the first three games with a quadriceps strain.
