Troy's Kelton Ford (4) drives to the basket as Paine College's Denzel Dillingham (24) attempts a block during Thursday night's game at the Dothan Civic Center.
Actually, Troy needed every one of those heroic efforts to finally dispense of Division II Paine College 85-77 in the Trojans’ second annual trip to the Dothan Civic Center Thursday night. Despite leading by 18 at halftime, the Trojans (5-5) committed plenty of mistakes in the second half to allow the Lions (2-9) to creep their way back into the contest.
“We talked at halftime in a situation like this about showing some maturity as a team and playing like the score is 0-0,” Trojans head coach Phil Cunningham said.
