Chunn paves the way on ground for Trojans

“There was something going on in the locker room – they (a reporter) said our running game was mediocre,” Chunn said. “What can they say now?”

Without a doubt, Chunn proved the Trojans’ rushing attack can be something outstanding. Chunn certainly had a night to remember during a 37-31 victory over Southern Mississippi on Saturday night.

Chunn was the workhorse in the backfield, carrying the ball 36 times – 20 of those coming in the first half – and rushing for a game-high 176 yards.

His 20 carries in the first half marked the first time a Troy player has had 20-plus carries in a half since DeWhitt Betterson had 27 in the second half of a game against Utah State in 2003.
