Defensive end Mario Addison is scheduled to report to the Carolina Panthers' training camp at Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina, on July 25 -- a return to his on-the-field job after a summer of off-the-field work in Birmingham.
The former Tarrant High School and Troy standout returned to his hometown for more projects with his Mario Addison Community Partnership.
Addison took youngsters on a $100 shopping spree at Academy Sports and Outdoors in Trussville, then he and Carolina cornerback James Bradberry, who starred at Pleasant Grove High School and Samford, held a massive and free football camp for area youngsters at Carver High School.
