TROY, Ala. – Logan Cerny has been named the Sun Belt Player of the Week for the second time this season, the league office announced Tuesday. This is the second weekly honor of the sophomore's career.
Cerny finished the weekend 7-for-11 (.636) with a double, triple and two home runs in a series win over Georgia Southern. In Sunday's rubber match, the center fielder recorded his second multi-homer game of the year and became the first Trojan to homer in consecutive at-bats since April 2019.
In Saturday's 11-8 win over the Eagles, Cerny went 3-for-3 with a triple, drew two walks and stole two bases.
