TROY, Ala. – Troy linebacker Carlton Martial has been named to the USA Today Freshman All-America Team, the national newspaper announced Thursday. Martial, a redshirt-freshman from Mobile, Ala., was also named to The Athletic Freshman All-America Team last week.
Martial came to Troy as a walk-on and earned a scholarship from head coach Neal Brown prior to the start of the 2018 season. Undersized among his peers at a listed 5-foot-10, Martial heads to the Dollar General Bowl in his hometown with 70 tackles and 8.
