The Troy women’s golf team earned its second team title of the season on Tuesday, March 22, placing first out of 10 teams at the Samford Collegiate.
Fatima Cano led the Trojans at the two-day event, which was held at the Greystone Golf and Country Club in Birmingham, with a school-record 8-under-par performance. The junior’s performance was enough to win first place individually, her third first-place finish in just six tournament appearances this season.
Currently, Cano ranks 13th nationally in stroke average, at 71.76.
After recording two 4-under 68 performances in the opening rounds of play, Cano finished the final round of play on Tuesday at an even par.
