BIRMINGHAM, Alabama – Troy junior Fátima Fernández Cano fired the eighth-best round of the day on Saturday in the final round of the NCAA East Regional at the Shoal Creek Country Club. She shot a 2-over 74 to climb 14 spots on the leaderboard and finish her third NCAA Regional appearance in a tie for 50th place.
Cano turned in an impressive opening nine holes as she made the turn at 2-under with birdies on No. 10, No. 14 and No. 17 around just one bogey. Her card flipped to the black after a bogey and double-bogey on the first two holes after making the turn.
