Brown's fiery outburst fuels Trojans

TROY — The countdown hit its end and the eruption commenced, entertaining the crowd and inspiring his team.

Troy coach Neal Brown, with Vesuvian relish, stormed halfway onto the field to register his disgust with the officials for one third-quarter sequence Saturday.

After the Trojans kicked a field goal, rather than scoring a touchdown Brown felt they deserved, the wild-eyed diatribe continued.

“I felt like I really needed to light a fire under our team and create some emotion,” Brown said.

Well, it worked.

The field goal started a second-half rally that carried Troy to a 31-21 victory over Georgia State at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
