Troy, Ala. – Julia Brooks has been named the Sun Belt's Freshman of the week, the league office announced Monday. It's the second time this season Brooks has received a weekly award.
"Julia had a really good week this week," head coach Josh Lauer said. "She's a great teammate every week and she works hard to make herself and everyone around her better each day."
Brooks posted back-to-back double-digit kill matches against Alabama State and South Alabama, recording 11 kills in each match. The St. Louis, Mo., native was dominant at the net as well, setting a career high with seven total blocks against Alabama State and finishing with nine total on the week.
