TROY, Alabama – Troy junior Brandon Silvers was one of just 30 quarterbacks named to the Manning Award Watch List, the Allstate Sugar Bowl announced Monday. The Manning Award was created by the Allstate Sugar Bowl in honor of the college football accomplishments of Archie, Peyton and Eli Manning. It is the only quarterback award that includes the candidates' bowl performances in its balloting.
Silvers finished third in the Sun Belt last season with 216.2 passing yards per game, 20 touchdown passes, a 61.2 completion percentage and a 137.50 quarterback rating. The native of Orange Beach, Ala.
