TROY — Two games into the season, the Troy Trojans are already dealing with a devastating injury to an offensive star.
Running back B.J. Smith, the preseason Sun Belt offensive player of the year, will miss the rest of the season due to a knee injury suffered in last weekend’s home loss to Southern Miss.
While the Trojans (1-1) prepare for Saturday’s game at Akron (0-3), Smith is due to have surgery to repair his left knee.
