Behind Calum Masters, Troy wins Tiger Invitational

Masters shot a 6-under 66 Tuesday at the Grand National in Auburn, guiding the Troy Trojans to a win over 17 other teams in the Tiger Invitational. The Trojans (-2) edged out host Auburn, ranked fifth in the nation, by three strokes after beginning the day just two strokes behind the Tigers.

Before Tuesday, Masters’ best round had been a 71 at The Raven Course, near Destin, Fla., a par-71 layout. That occurred at The Sun Belt Preview – a tournament Troy won – in September.

After struggling with a 20-over par at The All-American Intercollegiate in Humble, Texas, two weeks ago, Masters consulted with coaches about how to change his mental approach.
