Anton Picks Up Ranked Win; Troy Falls at Miami

CORAL GABLES, FLA. – Troy sophomore Carles Anton defeated the nation's No. 121-ranked player, but it was not enough as Troy fell at Miami, 6-1, Monday morning at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.

Anton defeated Dan Martin in a thrilling three-setter on court two after dropping the opening set 7-5 for Troy's (1-2) lone point of the match. Anton, the reigning Sun Belt Freshman of the Year, made quick work of Martin, 6-2, in the second set before the pair traded blows in the third set before Anton came out on top 11-9.

Christopher Tasker dropped a narrow three-set decision on court six after battling back to win set two, 6-2, as Juan Martin Jalif narrowly escaped with an 11-9 win in the third.
