Andre Flakes moves back to receiver as Troy depth chart released

The move was noted on the Trojans’ first official depth chart as Troy prepares to open the 2016 season at home against Austin Peay at 5 p.m. Saturday.

Coaches said two reasons triggered the move – the desire to get Flakes’ playmaking ability on the field more often and to strengthen the wide receiver corps overall.

“We feel like he’s one of our best 11 players, and (starting running back) Jordan Chunn’s had a great fall camp,” Trojans head coach Neal Brown said. “(Chunn) will be our feature back. Tevaris McCormick is going to be out with an injury … so I feel like we needed some playmaking ability at that position.
