Alabama women basketball survived a late run by Troy to get a 82-79 win in the first round of the WNIT at Trojan Arena in Troy on Thursday.
Troy took a double-digit lead during the first quarter before struggling to make shots as Alabama came back to take a lead at halftime. Alabama was able to hold its lead for most the second half. Down the stretch Alabama struggled scoring as Troy brought the game back with in three.
The Crimson Tide (18-13) was led by Jada Rice with 15 points and 15 rebounds.
