Alabama women's basketball survived a late run by Troy to post a 82-79 win in the first round of the WNIT at Trojan Arena in Troy on Thursday.
Troy took a double-digit lead during the first quarter before struggling to make shots as Alabama came back to take a lead at halftime. Alabama was able to hold its lead for most the second half. Down the stretch, Alabama struggled scoring as Troy brought the game back within a three-point margin.
The Crimson Tide (18-13) was led by Jada Rice with 15 points and 15 rebounds.
