Senior third baseman Chance Vincent roped a single off Troy’s Mar c Skinner in the eighth, driving home Chandler Avant to lead the Tide to a 2-1 victory over the Trojans at Riddle-Pace Field. It was the Tide's first win in four tries at Riddle-Pace.
Before Vincent’s big hit, the Crimson Tide was 0 - for - 12 with runners in scoring position.
“We had a lot of missed opportunities early. I don’t know how many we left on (13), but it seemed we had quite a few of them out there,” Alabama head coach Mitch Gaspard said.
