3 things we learned from Troy's 47-10 loss to Appalachian State football

Saturday was not Troy's day against Appalachian State and apparently in the series, too.

The Trojans were dominated by Appalachian State in a 47-10 loss at Kidd Brewer Stadium in Boone, North Carolina.

The Eagles have won three consecutive games against the Trojans and six of the last seven.

Here are three things we learned about Troy’s loss:

Trojans go as far as their defense

The Trojans' defense has taken significant strides this season, but in their biggest test of the season, Troy (4-5, 2-3 Sun Belt) was dominated.

Quarterback Zac Thomas and the Mountaineers (7-2, 5-1), moved the ball with ease, scoring 21 points in the first quarter and amassing 554 yards of total offense.
