'Would anyone take a chance on him now?' Jose Mourinho may have to take a national team job next after toxic Tottenham exit, says club legend Teddy Sheringham, with his dull brand of football a big turn-off for Spurs fans

Jose Mourinho's next step in management may have to be at international level after his toxic exit from Tottenham, according to Teddy Sheringham.

Amid the chaos of the breakaway European Super League, Spurs announced Mourinho's sacking on Monday after just 17 months in the job.

Though Spurs remain in touch with the Champions League places and take on Manchester City in Sunday's Carabao Cup final as they bid to win a first trophy since 2008, Mourinho was criticised for a negative brand of football.
