As Hull City make a poignant return to west London only a week after midfielder Ryan Mason suffered a fractured skull against Chelsea, their captain Michael Dawson has revealed Wayne Rooney and Sir Alex Ferguson have been among members of the football community who have contacted him to pass on their best wishes to the stricken player.
Dawson was the first Hull player to visit Mason at St Mary’s Hospital last Monday following his sickening clash of heads with Gary Cahill and in a strange quirk of fate, the Tigers are at Fulham – less than two miles from Stamford Bridge – for an FA Cup fourth round tie on Sunday.
