When I last wrote about VAR, I asked the question: 'What will go wrong next?'
On Wednesday night, the use of the Video Assistant Referee meant that Tottenham were given a penalty that they would not otherwise have been awarded but had a goal disallowed that should have stood.
In the sixth minute, the VAR chalked off a goal for Erik Lamela after ruling that Fernando Llorente committed a foul in the build-up.
As that foul was neither clear nor obvious, the VAR should not have got involved.
