Monaco ended Tottenham's Champions League dream with a 2-1 defeat of the Premier League side at the Stade Louis II on Tuesday.
The loss leaves Mauricio Pochettino's men with no chance of qualifying for the knockout stage of the competition from Group E after second-placed Bayer Leverkusen drew with CSKA Moscow earlier in the day.
Tottenham conceded a penalty on 10 minutes -- Eric Dier clumsily hacking down Fabinho in the middle of the box -- but Hugo Lloris guessed correctly and saved Radamel Falcao's effort down and to his right.
Valère Germain nearly shaved the post in the 35th minute after collecting a long Bernardo Silva pass behind the defence and firing his right-footed shot beyond Lloris.
