Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly interest in Boca Juniors midfielder Wilmar Barrios, and will use the World Cup to evaluate him this summer.
According to The Sun's Alan Nixon, Pochettino "wants a new defensive shield for his back four" and has already been keeping an eye on Barrios' progress at Boca.
He will give him a closer look in Russia, with the defensive midfielder said to be valued at around £25 million.
The 24-year-old has made eight appearances for Colombia's national side and he has been included in their provisional squad for the upcoming tournament:
Barrios is a mobile and energetic presence in the centre of the pitch, and according to Nixon he would be a good fit under Pochettino as he is both combative and technically able.
