Tottenham target Max Meyer has rejected Schalke's latest contract offer, claim reports in Germany.
The 21-year-old's current deal with the German club expires in the summer of 2018 and they are desperate for him to stay.
But Tottenham want to bring the attacking midfielder to London and, according to Bild, he has now snubbed Schalke's latest contract offer.
The Bundesliga side are said to have offered Meyer a new long-term deal and they will return again with an improved offer.
However, if the Germany international continues to snub Schalke's advances they will be left in a difficult situation.
