Barcelona have confirmed talented teenage midfielder Carles Alena has signed a new contract - with a potential release clause set at £66million.
The 19-year-old, who was being monitored by Tottenham among others, has decided to commit to Barca and will sign a deal which includes a £66million release clause should he make the first team.
'Barcelona and Carles Alena have reached a contract agreement that will see the youngster sign on for the next three years,' a statement read.
'If Alena joins the first team then the deal will be extended by a further two years, and his release clause will reach €75m.
