Tottenham are preparing a £26.5million offer for Portuguese playmaker Adrien Silva after holding informal talks with Sporting Lisbon.
The 28-year-old was a target for Leicester City this time last year but stayed put in Portugal and impressed during his 27 top flight appearances, scoring four goals.
Now he is the subject of more interest from England, with Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino keen on a move for the influential midfielder.
And, according to Portuguese newspaper Record, the north London club have held talks about a deal for the France-born Silva.
It has been suggested that Spurs wish to tie up any move before the start of the Confederations Cup, where the 28-year-old will represent Portugal.
