Jan Vertonghen is the latest player to sign a new contract with Tottenham Hotspur by committing himself to the club until 2019.
The centre-back agreed a four-year deal with an option for a two-year extension when he joined Spurs from Ajax in July 2012, so the new deal extends his stay at Spurs by one year.
Vertonghen, 29, is the ninth senior Spurs player to agree a new contract this season, following stars such as Christian Eriksen, Eric Dier, Dele Alli, Danny Rose and Harry Kane -- whose latest contract was announced on Thursday.
