Tottenham moved into the top four with a comfortable 5-2 win against Southampton at Wembley in a game that saw hat-trick hero Harry Kane set a new Premier League record.

Kane's 22nd minute header put Spurs ahead and saw him move in front of Alan Shearer to become the player with the most Premier League goals in a calendar year.

That was Kane's 37th Premier League goal of 2017 and he added a 38th shortly before half-time when he tapped in from Son Heung-Min's low cross.

Kane will also finish the year as the player with most goals for club and country after he scored a second to overtake Barcelona forward Lionel Messi.
