Tottenham are showing interest in Hoffenheim full back Jeremy Toljan.
The promising 22-year-old can play on the right or left of defence and is seen as ideal competition for Kieran Trippier, Danny Rose and Ben Davies.
Tottenham had targeted Ricardo Pereira of Porto but negotiations have become complicated over his third party ownership and £20million valuation.
Toljan, who was on holiday recently with former Arsenal winger Serge Gnabry, was part of Germany's 2016 Olympic silver medal-winning squad and played for their Under 21s in the European Championships this summer, earning a place in the team of the tournament.
