Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld reveals extent of knee injury: 'It felt like I was paralysed. I could not even move my toes.'

Toby Alderweireld couldn't move his toes or walk for three days in the immediate aftermath of the knee injury he sustained against West Brom in October.

The Belgium central defender collided with team-mate Jan Vertonghen and was taken off on a stretcher during the match at The Hawthorns on October 15, which finished 1-1.

He returned to action on December 7 for the 3-1 Champions League victory over CSKA Moscow.
