Tottenham defender Juan Foyth signs new contract until 2023 despite limited game time under Jose Mourinho - and will spend next season on loan at Villarreal

Tottenham defender Juan Foyth has signed a new deal at the club and will spend next season on loan at Villarreal.

The 22-year-old joined the north London outfit three years ago from Estudiantes and has made 32 appearances across all competitions.

However, the centre back has not featured since December and has now joined the LaLiga outfit in a bid for regular first-team action.

Foyth put pen to paper on a 12-month extension that will run until 2023.

A club statement said: 'Juan Foyth has signed a new contract with the Club until 2023 and joined Spanish side Villarreal on loan for the remainder of the 2020-21 season.
