Tottenham are reportedly on the verge of cancelling Gedson Fernandes' loan deal at the club less than a year after he moved to north London.
The 21-year-old joined Spurs on an 18-month loan deal in January and was Jose Mourinho's first signing as manager - Tottenham also had the option to sign the midfielder for £46m.
But the Portuguese Under-21 international has only made 13 appearances for the first-team, with just one of those coming this season, and Fernandes looks set to return to Benfica next month with manager Jorge Jesus saying this week he should not have made the move to the Premier League.
