Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino to hand 18-year-old defender Cameron Carter-Vickers his senior debut in the EFL Cup tie against Gillingham

Mauricio Pochettino is set to hand highly-rated defender Cameron Carter-Vickers his senior debut in the EFL Cup against Gillingham.

Sportsmail understands the 18-year-old will start against the Gills, marking his first full appearance for the club having sat on the bench for all of Tottenham's games so far this season.

The American is set to play alongside Kevin Wimmer at centre back; while right back Kieran Trippier is also set for his first appearance of the season.
