Tottenham book their place in the Carabao Cup final to set up chance to land first piece of silverware since 2008 as Moussa Sissoko and Son net in comfortable win over Brentford

Jose Mourinho is employed at Tottenham to deliver trophies and he moved another step closer to one of his favourite items of silverware.

Moussa Sissoko and Son Heung-min scored the goals as Spurs secured a place in the Carabao Cup final against Manchester United or Manchester City who meet on Wednesday night.

Mourinho is within touching distance of winning it for the fifth time and Spurs are one victory from their first triumph for 13 years.

If they can clinch it at Wembley, in April, it will go a long way towards justifying Daniel Levy's decision to sack Mauricio Pochettino and replace him with a manager with a ruthless reputation for winning.
