The blueprint for fixing Arsenal's dodgy defence: Mikel Arteta must bin the deadwood, improve the mentality, and look to the future with William Saliba leading or the same old frailties will haunt them

After signs of encouragement following four straight wins and impressing for the majority of the game against Leicester, Arsenal were brought back down to earth by bitter rivals Tottenham.

Following a fine strike from Alexandre Lacazette, Arsenal's defence - Sead Kolasinac in particular - gifted Tottenham an equaliser just moments later before conceding from a corner as Spurs ran out 2-1 winners in Sunday's north London derby.

It served as a wake-up call yet again for the Gunners, and for the defence old habits certainly die hard.
