Christian Eriksen scored a spectacular goal to give Tottenham a late 1-0 win against Brighton and Hove Albion in London on Monday night.
Spurs, looking to solidify their place in third in the Premier League without the injured Harry Kane, were held at bay throughout the opening 45 minutes with Maty Ryan saving two point-blank chances, one from Jan Vertonghen on 20 minutes and the other from Dele Alli in first-half stoppage time.
It was more of the same in the second half as Brighton -- sitting just three points above Cardiff in the relegation zone -- seemingly content to put all their numbers behind the ball and hit on the counter.
